Adam Henson did an outstanding job installing exterior shutters on our home. His ability to assist with selection, measuring, follow up during the process and finally installation was superb. He took care of every detail and the result is a spectacular look to the house. We appreciate all he did to help us.

Meet the Memphis Window Coverings Design Team
The Louver Shop of Memphis is owned by Rick Nava. According to Rick, The Louver Shop is different from its competition for several reasons. The Louver Shop offers its clients a longevity and experience that other dealers just don’t have. Plus, the array of window covering options is incredibly broad.
Rick grew up in a military family and lived all over the United States and in several places outside the country as well (including Germany and Thailand). He also followed in his father’s footsteps and served in the military for seven years as well. Eventually, Rick left the military and went to work with his brother in North Carolina as an installer. From there he moved into installations, sales, and marketing in the Atlanta area. Rick became so skilled at installations that he was often called all around the country to assist in more complicated projects for The Louver Shop. His travels took him to New York, New Jersey, Colorado, Arizona, Illinois, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and especially all over the southern U.S. When a dealership became available in the Memphis area, Rick eagerly took the position and relocated in 2001.
Rick says that his favorite thing about working for The Louver Shop is “helping people.” Rick continues, “I really like helping them get what they want and what they need. I had one of my clients say to me just recently, ‘This is so much more than what I expected!’ “That’s when you know you’ve done a good job,” says Rick, “This is what I do this for.”
Rick says that his goal for his clients is that they are happy when the job is done. “I want every customer to be extremely satisfied. And, as my dad used to say, I want them to feel like they got a Cadillac for a Chevrolet price!”
Rick comments that he doesn’t really have any one particular product that is more popular than the others he carries. “We start with what the client wants to accomplish and we go from there. The window covering industry has really evolved. There are so many more options now and so many more colors than white or beige. We sell lots of shutters, blinds, and shades. We are finding that motorization is becoming more popular. We do really like to help our clients to not be afraid of motorization or the pricing and as a result, more people are choosing this option.”
Rick loves the Memphis region and community for many different reasons. He says with a smile, “The number one reason is the food! But there is also the music and all the different kinds of people. There’s always a lot going on and I love it when new people come here and I can introduce them to all the area has to offer.”
Rick also loves to take advantage of the many activities available. He likes to golf and wishes he could play more, he hunts ducks and fishes, and he enjoys walking and biking in the many local parks. He loves spending time with his grandchildren as well and tries to travel whenever possible too. One of the things he really enjoys doing is attending the many festivals held in downtown Memphis. Says Rick, “There is always something going on and there are so many different kinds of music – gospel, rock, blues—and you see so many different kinds of people too.”
Rick is also involved in helping to support St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital whenever he can. “We love to sponsor a hole in a golf tournament or donate towards a fundraising event like a marathon,” he comments. “But, we don’t do it for advertising, we do it because it is something we believe in.”
Rick has won many awards and various forms of recognition over the years. He is rightfully proud of his excellent military record and he has been a member of The Louver Shop’s President’s Club for the last four years. However, Rick says that what really matters to him is the recognition he gets from his customers. “When they are happy, that’s when I know I’ve done a good job and that is the real reward!”
