For a less expensive option, some of our customers opt for custom faux wood blinds.

Meet the Atlanta Window Coverings Design Team
Jory Stubblefield is the owner of The Louver Shop of Atlanta and he says that what really sets The Louver Shop apart from its competition is that “It has an extensive array of products all in one location. It’s great for the customers because they don’t have to traipse all over town to find the perfect window covering solution.”
Jory was actually born in South Carolina (but considers himself a Georgia native now) and went to school there to learn TV and radio broadcasting. After graduating, he worked for Eastern Airlines until they went out of business. Fortunately, Jory had a close family friend who was part of The Louver Shop in Georgia. In 1992, his friend recruited him to come to work as an installer for The Louver Shop and from there, Jory’s responsibilities grew to include troubleshooting, customer service, and sales. By 2007, Jory had become an owner himself.
Jory says what he really enjoys about his job is the flexibility. “I’m never bored because I’m always meeting lots of interesting people and helping them. I especially like working with customers who are in their first home who don’t have a lot of knowledge yet. It’s rewarding to be able to help them by passing on all my experience.”
Jory also goes on to say, “I like to take the customer’s fear away. I make sure that they know that I won’t let them make a design mistake and I won’t let them buy something they don’t need.”
Jory also comments that he is glad that he still gets to do some installations and that he is involved with the entire spectrum. “I really love the feedback I get and the positive reinforcement from the people I help. Often, I end up helping multiple generations of the same family as they grow and move into their own homes or when they refer me to one another – parents, grandparents, in laws, kids – that’s a great part of the job!”Jory says that his goal for his customers is to never hear the words, “Oh, I didn’t know it was going to look like that…” Jory comments, “I want to hear, ‘it’s perfect! It’s really changed the whole room or my home!’ I over communicate and over explain and I don’t use jargon because I want my customers to know what to expect. I want extremely satisfied customers who call me back or refer me.”Jory says that what is popular is “some of everything. People call thinking that they want a certain item and if I ask good questions and listen and communicate well, I can make sure that they get what they really want and need. That being said, Plantation Shutters are probably the most popular product.”
Jory continues, “My job is to be an assistant buyer, not a salesperson.”
Jory is very involved in the community and he especially loves performing. He has played the guitar since he was 13 years old and has sung and played with his brother for audiences at a live venue. He also sings with his church choir and they do a variety of outreach at nursing homes, life care facilities, and retirement communities. Jory also enjoys theatre and he often works as an actor and a technical director in community theatre productions.
Jory a lot to say on the subject of what he likes about the region. “It’s my community. I like the diversity and I’m never bored. The people are friendly, there are lots of different nationalities, and lots of different income levels. I enjoy them all and I walk into every home as if it were my own and I treat it that way too. Every customer gets my full attention.”
Jory has been recognized several times over the years as a member of The Louver Shop’s President’s Club. But, he cites other awards that are just as meaningful to him like a 3rd place finish in a horseshoe competition and a 1st place in a karaoke contest. He is also proud of running the Peach Tree Road Race 10K but he says what is most rewarding is being a grandfather.
