Our window coverings selection varies by product, textures and colors, allowing us to offer hundreds of options.

Meet the Birmingham Window Coverings Design Team
Andrew Capstickdale is the proud owner of The Louver Shop of Birmingham, Alabama. According to Andrew, The Louver Shop is unique and stands apart from its competition because it has the best quality products at an unbeatable price. Also, says Andrew with a smile, “Our customers get to work with great people!”
Andrew took over The Louver Shop of Birmingham from a previous owner. Before that, Andrew had owned his own construction and landscaping business, but he wanted more flexibility and the opportunity to be involved in the whole process – from sales, to design, and finally to installation. Andrew says that what he loves about his career with The Louver Shop is that he gets to work much more closely with his customers. “I get to meet really cool people and I get to help them immediately,” he states.
Andrew says that his goal for his clients is to make sure that they understand “from the minute I walk in the door, what they are getting and what they are paying for.” Andrew continues, “I want 100% of my customers to be totally satisfied. At least 90% of them end up re-ordering from me so it is important that they are happy and that we have built a good, solid relationship.”
Andrew says that he has found that Plantation Shutters are his number one selling item. “I do see that our business in shades is really growing as well but Plantation Shutters are the go-to product in the Birmingham area. They really last in our climate and they have that traditional feel that the people of our region prefer.”
Andrew was actually born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and came to the United States to attend college at The University of Alabama in Birmingham where he studied business. He loved Birmingham so much that he decided to stay and make it his home. Andrew says that his favorite thing about the region is the people. “The people are wonderful here” he says with enthusiasm. Andrew also likes that Birmingham is a great place to raise a family and he really enjoys spending time with his wife and their two small children. “I do lead a high school bible study group,” he says, “but for now most of my free time is spent with my family.”
Andrew has earned a coveted certification with Hunter Douglas as a master installer and he has achieved President’s Club status with The Louver Shop for the past two years. But what Andrew says really matters to him are not awards and certificates. Andrew comments that what is really important to him is earning happy customers. States Andrew, “I really feel rewarded when I have a completely satisfied customer who comes back and works with me again!”
